Incredible! This bowl began as a very rough cedar stump. The inside of the bowl is actually the inside of the stump. There were knots and gaps surrounding this chunk of wood. The white areas of the bowl are part of the cedar, but all of the dark areas are epoxy that was used to fill each gap. Purple epoxy was put around the outer lip of the bowl. The entire piece was then hand-turned and sealed with food grade varnish. It's not possible to completely replicate this beautiful bowl. It's 4" tall, 11.75" in diameter at the outside lip of the bowl, 10" in diameter inside the bowl, and 33.5" in circumference just below the lip.

Nanita’s Pyro Art
Beautifully designed gourds and baskets of all sizes and descriptions. Specializing in southwestern and western themes. We have a new addition! Hand-turned wooden bowls and platters.
I feature a unique art style made from gourds, longleaf pine needles, antlers, feathers, and other natural items. In addition to custom gourds, I also make beautiful, handmade pine needle baskets. As of January 2024, my husband, who had retired from wood working, is hand-turning beautiful wood platters and bowls. I add pine needle coiling to most of his work and it makes a stunning combination! Have a look at my gallery and contact me with any questions or special requests.
