I feature a unique art style made from gourds, longleaf pine needles, antlers, feathers, and other natural items. In addition to custom gourds, I also make beautiful, handmade pine needle baskets, many of which are combined with gourds. My husband, Mark, who had retired from wood working, is hand-turning beautiful wood and resin items, many showcasing beautiful burls. This incredible basket is made from a large Martin gourd, painted differently inside and outside to represent two different types of marble. Dyed longleaf pine needles have been coiled multiple times around the entire circumference of the gourd to make a stunning basket. A wooden flower surrounded by pine needles finish off the bottom of the basket. It’s 12” across, 7 1/2” tall and 39 1/2” in circumference.
